Certified International Trade Professional
(C.I.T.P.) Designation Training
Set Yourself Apart With The C.I.T.P. Designation
Professional certification opens doors around the world. The
C.I.T.P. designation is proof that you have met rigorous standards
established by a recognized certifying body. The designation lets
customers and colleagues know that they are dealing with a knowledgeable
international trade professional. Individuals with the C.I.T.P.
designation can make the difference in a highly competitive market.
Many organizations find that having a C.I.T.P. on staff brings
critical knowledge to support their company's international trade
activities. It allows them to establish a benchmark for others;
sets hiring standards; and increases the company's credibility
with customers.
Is The C.I.T.P. Designation For You?
Global trade activities are multi-faceted - extending to include
specialties such as marketing, law, finance, and logistics. The
C.I.T.P. designation can reflect specialization in many of these
areas. Professionals working towards the designation can come
from any size of company that wants to compete in the global economy.
To qualify for the C.I.T.P. designation, candidates must:
- Have international trade work experience
- Successfully complete the Forum for International Trade Training
(FITT) Program and/or obtain exemptions through FITT's Prior
Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process
- Candidates must agree to comply with standards of ethical
conduct and meet annual continuing professional development
requirements
